What braces cost, by case
Braces are individually quoted, because a small cosmetic tidy-up and a full bite correction are very different jobs. As a guide, this is where our all-inclusive fees sit.
From $7,900
Simple & cosmetic. Straightening the front teeth or a milder case, often in less time.
From $9,900
Comprehensive. Full specialist treatment correcting the bite as well as the teeth. Most cases sit around $10,400.
Up to ~$12,900
Complex. The most involved bite corrections, sometimes combined with other treatment.
Treating a child early? Children's early treatment (Phase 1) starts from $4,500. If both phases are needed they are usually quoted together at around $11,900 to $12,500, over a longer interest-free plan.
Your fee is all-inclusive
The price you are quoted is the price for the whole journey. There are no per-visit charges and no adjustment fees. It covers:
The only separate cost is the optional $390 full work-up if you go straight to a written plan and quote. Your very first Smile Assessment is always free.
Spread the cost, interest-free
You do not pay it all at once. Most families pay a deposit and then equal monthly direct debits over the treatment, with no interest and no finance company.
Interest-free weekly plans
A deposit then equal monthly direct debits, which for many works out around $60 to $76 a week. No interest, no third party.
Save $500 paid in full
Prefer to settle it up front? Pay in full and we take $500 off the treatment fee.
Family discount
More than one family member in treatment? $200 off the second and $300 off each after that.

Does health insurance or Southern Cross cover braces?
Milk Orthodontics is a Southern Cross Affiliated Provider. Whether orthodontics is covered depends on your specific policy and any orthodontic limits, so it is worth checking with your insurer. We are happy to provide the documentation you need to make a claim.
Why do braces cost what they do?
Your treatment is planned and delivered by a registered specialist orthodontist, not a general dentist, and the fee is all-inclusive: records and scans, the braces themselves, every adjustment appointment, your retainers at the end and your aftercare. It is one fixed price for the whole journey rather than a charge each visit.
Are there any hidden or extra costs?
No. The treatment fee is all-inclusive of records, appliances, every appointment, your retainers and your aftercare, with no per-visit or adjustment charges. The only separate cost is the optional $390 full work-up if you go straight to a written plan and exact quote, and your very first Smile Assessment is free.
How much are braces for a child?
Early treatment for a child, known as Phase 1, starts from $4,500. If a child later needs a second phase once their adult teeth are through, both phases are usually quoted together at around $11,900 to $12,500, spread over a longer interest-free plan of roughly thirty months.
