why milk

Why Greenlane families choose a specialist

A specialist, every time

Dr Shaz holds four university qualifications and is registered as a specialist orthodontist. Read the difference between an orthodontist and a dentist.

One all-inclusive fee

Records, appliances, every appointment, retainers and aftercare are quoted in one fee, so nothing turns up later.

Children, teens and adults

Plenty of our Greenlane patients are adults straightening their teeth for the first time, or for the second time after old treatment relapsed.

what we treat

Braces, clear aligners and early treatment

Braces

Metal and clear braces for teenagers and adults, including the complex bites aligners cannot handle well. See braces in Auckland.

Clear aligners

Near invisible removable trays, planned by a specialist using the Clarity and Angel Aligners systems. See clear aligners.

Children and early treatment

A first check around age seven, and early treatment only where it genuinely helps. See children's orthodontics.

questions

Greenlane questions, answered honestly

Is there a specialist orthodontist in Greenlane?

The closest specialist orthodontic clinic to Greenlane is Milk Orthodontics at Suite 27, 2 Nuffield Street, Newmarket, a short drive up Great South Road or Green Lane West. Treatment is planned and directed by Dr Shaz MacAvoy, a registered specialist orthodontist, and you do not need a referral from your dentist to book.

How far is the Newmarket clinic from Greenlane?

It is a short drive straight up Great South Road and Broadway. There is paid parking in the Nuffield Street Carpark, activated through the Westfield Plus app and entered from 40 Nuffield Street, and Suite 27 is under a minute's walk from there. Greenlane Station is also one stop from Newmarket on the Southern line, and we are directly opposite Newmarket Station.

Do you treat adults, or only children and teenagers?

We treat all three. A good share of our Greenlane patients are adults who either never had treatment or had it years ago and have seen their teeth shift back. Clear aligners are the most popular adult choice, though braces are sometimes the better tool. We will tell you plainly which one suits your case.

How much does treatment cost for a Greenlane family?

Simple cosmetic treatment starts from $7,900 and comprehensive specialist treatment from $9,900, all-inclusive of records, appliances, every appointment, retainers and aftercare. Children's Phase 1 early treatment starts from $4,500. A full diagnostic work-up with a written plan and your exact quote is $390, and interest-free in-house payment plans are available.

When should my child first be seen?

Around age seven is the usual guide. The first adult teeth are through by then and we can see how the jaws are growing, which is when simple early treatment is most useful. Most seven year olds we see need nothing yet and we simply keep an eye on them, and the first step costs nothing.
