Buck teeth? Here is how we bring them back.
Buck teeth, upper front teeth that stick out further than they should, are one of the most common things we treat and one of the most rewarding. We move them back into line with braces or clear aligners for a comfortable, even bite. Here is what causes them and how we fix them.

Buck teeth, brought back into line
Real Milk Orthodontics patients, treated by a specialist and shared with their permission. Your own plan is designed for your specific case.

What buck teeth are
Buck teeth is the everyday name for a large overjet, where the upper front teeth sit too far ahead of the lower ones. It can be down to the teeth themselves, the position of the jaws, or habits like thumb sucking. Whatever the cause, a specialist can bring the teeth back into a natural, even position.
Why it is worth treating
Prominent front teeth are more easily chipped or knocked, can make closing the lips harder, and often affect confidence. Bringing them back protects the teeth and gives an even, comfortable bite.
How we treat it
We guide the upper front teeth back into line with braces or clear aligners, and where the jaws are involved we can use growth in younger patients. Most cases are treated without surgery.
Treated at any age
Buck teeth are corrected in children, teens and adults. In a growing child we can guide the jaws; in adults we align the teeth into an even, comfortable bite.
A free Smile Assessment tells you what is causing the buck teeth and the best way to correct them. We treat this in children and adults, with braces or clear aligners.
Clear pricing, no surprises
The first step is a free Smile Assessment, in the clinic or over Zoom. A full diagnostic work-up with a written plan and exact quote is $390. Simple cosmetic treatment from $7,900, comprehensive specialist treatment from $9,900 with most cases around $10,400, all-inclusive of records, appliances, appointments, retainers and aftercare. Interest-free in-house plans work out around $60 to $76 a week, and family discounts apply for siblings.
Answered honestly
What are buck teeth?
Buck teeth is the everyday name for a large overjet, where the upper front teeth stick out further than the lower ones. It can come from the teeth, the position of the jaws, or habits like thumb sucking. A specialist orthodontist can tell you the cause at an assessment.
Can buck teeth be fixed without surgery?
Yes, the large majority of cases are. We move the upper front teeth back into line with braces or clear aligners, and in growing children we can guide the jaws, so surgery is rarely needed. We will always tell you honestly what your case needs.
What is the best age to treat buck teeth?
There is no single right age. In children we can use jaw growth to help, often from around 10 to 12 years, but buck teeth are treated successfully at any age, including in adults. An early check means we can pick the best timing for you.
How much does it cost to fix buck teeth?
Treatment follows our standard pricing: simple cosmetic treatment from $7,900 and comprehensive specialist treatment from $9,900, all-inclusive and including GST, with most cases around $10,400. You get an exact written quote after your free Smile Assessment.
